Why did you start Tails in Tubs?
What started as a passion project has grown into a thriving business (and even a training academy!) – proof that sometimes the best ventures come from taking a leap into what you truly love.
What certificate will I get after I complete this academy?
Our Training Academy offers internationally recognised qualifications through the esteemed iPET Network — a leading awarding body known for its rigorous quality assurance and industry-led standards.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training. That’s why every student starts with a conversation — to make sure we’re the right fit for you, and you for us. Once enrolled, you’ll have full access to expert support, real-world practice, and a pathway to an internationally respected qualification that can take you anywhere in Ireland or abroad.
What does this course entail?
Throughout the course, you will groom a minimum of 10 dogs, covering at least 5–6 different breeds and 4 coat types — often many more. Training includes hands-on, practical experience in: Prepping and bathing Scissoring and clipping Styling techniques Nail trimming Health checking and safe handling
What modules do you cover?
The qualification includes the following core units: 301: Health and Safety in a Dog Grooming Environment 302: Promote the Welfare of Dogs Conforming with Relevant Legislation 304: Assess and Plan Dog Grooming Styles and Maintenance of Equipment 305: Health Checking, Handling and Canine Behaviour 317: Prepare, Style and Finish a Selection of Dog Breeds
Can I do this course if I am working full-time?
Uniquely, the course is assessed through ongoing practical demonstration and coursework — there are no formal exams. This flexible, holistic approach has been praised for reducing the pressure of adult learning and is ideal for learners of all styles.
